I've received an error message when connecting to my SQL 2005 database with SQL 2008 Management Studio.
This is an annoying bug in SQL 2008 Management Studio. Luckily there's an easy fix. After you receive the error message click okay. Then, in the right hand pane of Management Studio right click on the name column and clear 'collation'. Go back to the left pane, click on databases and hit F5 to refresh the listing. That should fix the problem for you. If this doesn't resolve your issue please let us know.
